Kelowna intersection still the worst in the Okanagan

ICBC has released list of areas with most crashes in 2022

The intersection of Harvey Avenue and Dilworth Drive in Kelowna remains notiriously bad for car crashes.

For the fifth year in a row, the intersection had the most collisions in 2022 in the city with 115, according to an ICBC report.

Harvey and Spall road, just down the street, had the second most with 86.

Overall, either Highway 97 or it’s section known as Harvey Avenue were involved in the top seven worst spots.

William R. Bennett Bridge came in ninth in Kelowna with 55 crashes. On the west side of the bridge, Hudson Road and highway 97 saw 48.

Hwy. 97 was also involved in the worst area for crashes in Lake Country, experiencing 54 crashes at it’s intersection with Oceola Road.

In Vernon, 25th Avenue and 32nd Street topped the city’s list at 44. Penticton’s Channel Parkway and Fairview Road was the worst with 42.

Salmon Arm had Hwy. 97B and the Trans-Canada Hwy. at the most in the area with 14.
