Kelowna Mounties release name of woman found in burnt house, say death is suspicious

Police continue to investigate after the discovery of a body inside a suspicious house fire last Wednesday.

Police continue to investigate after the discovery of a body inside a suspicious house fire last Wednesday.

On Nov.4, 2015 at 1:47 a.m, West Kelowna RCMP and West Kelowna Fire Department responded to the report of a house fire on Boucherie Road where a deceased female was located inside.

“An autopsy was conducted and the deceased was conclusively identified as 37 year old Hazel Delgado Budiongan, a resident of the address of the suspicious fire,” said Const.  Jesse O’Donaghey

“The house fire and the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death have been deemed suspicious.”

Police believe that this was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public.

The West Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) will continue to work in conjunction with the BC Coroner’s Service to investigate and determine the cause of Hazel’s death.
