Kelowna pharmacy robbed at gunpoint Friday morning

Police are looking for a suspect involved in the robbery of a pharmacy, at the corner of Lawrence and Gordon in Kelowna on Friday morning.

Police are looking for a suspect involved in the robbery of a pharmacy, at the corner of Lawrence and Gordon in Kelowna on Friday morning.

At around 10:30 a.m., a male wearing dark clothing entered the store. Witnesses said that he produced a handgun and demanded prescription drugs. The man left the store after receiving some prescription medicine. The gun was not used and no one was injured.

Police responded quickly and were joined by a police service dog and the RCMP Air 3 helicopter.

It was learned that the suspect got into a smaller grey sedan that may have departed east on Lawrence. Neither the suspect, nor the vehicle, had been located by 3 p.m. Friday.

The incident is being investigated by Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Services.
