The Petro-Can station at Harvey Ave. and Richter was robbed early Thursday (Feb. 3) morning.

Kelowna RCMP was called to the store around 6:45 a.m. Police say a man threatened an employee with a knife before stealing cigarettes and running away. Officers, with help from Police Dog Services, searched the area but did not find the suspect. The man is caucasian, in his 30’s, and has brown eyes. He was wearing a grey jacket, brown pants, green gloves, and a green mask.

“Thankfully the employee was not injured during this robbery,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb, media relations officer, Kelowna Regional RCMP. “This robbery occurred at a time in the morning when many people are on their way to work and may have been using the gas station. We are hoping that by releasing a photo of the suspect, witnesses will come forward”.
