Kelowna RCMP treat body discovery as suspicious

A 48-year-old woman found dead in her residence in the 800-block of Cawston Avenue in downtown Kelowna.

Kelowna RCMP are treated the discovery of a dead woman in her downtown Kelowna home as suspicious.

On Saturday at 1:45 a.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call and arrived at a residence in the 800-block of Cawston Avenue to find a deceased 48-year-old woman.

Police said a 53-year-old man has been detained while the investigation continues under the auspices of the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crimes Unit.

Police will say little more at this point other than the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain unclear.
