RCMP had began search after being contacted by family Tuesday

The RCMP report that a 15-year-old Lake Country girl reported missing Tuesday was located last night.

She has been returned home safe and sound.

“Thanks to the media and the public for your assistance,” said Cst. Kris Clark, with the RCMP.

Police are looking for a 15 year old Lake Country girl after she went missing from her home yesterday afternoon.

The Lake Country RCMP received a report of a missing youth in the 10500 block of Cheryl Road on Tuesday morning.

Shelsey Leys, 15, apparently left her home at about 2 pm the previous day after having an argument with her family.

Leys suffers from autism but can communicate well and does not have a history of running away. None of Shelsey’s friends have seen her and there is nothing to indicate where else she may have gone.

She is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5′ tall and 90 lbs with a slim build
  • Light, sandy brown hair
  • And was last seen wearing a blue jacket, skinny jeans and a light blue scarf

Leys left her residence on a small silver, pink and blue mountain bike.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Shelsey Leys is asked to call the Lake Country RCMP at 250-766-2288.
