Liquor store robbed in West Kelowna

Knife-wielding male suspect flees with small amount of casgh from Liquor Depot outlet on Louie Drive.

A male suspect walked into the Liquor Depot in West Kelowna on Tuesday night and demanded money from the cashier while waving a kitchen knife at the store employee.

The suspect fled the scene with a small amount of money, hopping into the passenger side of a white/gray pickup truck driven by another individual.

Police say the vehicle appeared to have equipment in the truck bed, including a possible lawn mower as the handle was evident above the side of the truck.

The vehicle departed eastbound from the Liquor Depot, which is located at 3000 Louie Dr., and was last seen headed for Kelowna.

Police say the incident occurred about 9 p.m.

The suspect who carried out the robbery was caught on the store camera, identified as a  Caucasian man, with a medium build. He was wearing a red and black hooded jacket with the hood up, and black pants.
