Local firefighters offer tree chipping service

In return for a donation to the B.C. Burn Fund, firefighters in Kelowna and West Kelowna will chip your Christmas tree next month.

Local firefighters are supporting the B.C. Burn Fund again this year with with a Christmas tree chipping service.

Firefighters from Kelowna and West Kelowna have teamed up with Cody Tree Services, 4Less Disposal and Okanagan Portable Sign Rentals to chip trees in exchange for a donation to the B.C. Burn Fund.

All donations will go to the fund, which provides life-saving, life-supporting and life-enriching services to people in British Columbia.

The service will be offered Jan. 5 and 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kelowna Fire Department stations at 2255 Enterprise Way and 619 DeHart Road in the Mission., and at the West Kelowna Home Deport at 3550 Carrington Road.

Tinsel, ornaments and any other decorations must be removed from the tree before it can be chipped.
