Long-time Okanagan construction business closing

After 65 years, OK Builders announces it’s closing its Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton operations

A long-time Okanagan business is closing its doors.

The management team at OK Builders has announced that after 65 years servicing the Okanagan construction industry, the family-owned OK Builders Supplies Ltd. is closing its builders centres and masonry division locations in Vernon, Kelowna, and Penticton.

The company says it will wind down the operations between now and March 1.

OK Builders Supplies Ltd. recently sold its Ready Mix operations to Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited and the transition to new owner is currently being completed.

That deal will see all the Ready Mix locations from Penticton to Kamloops continue to provide concrete and a full line of concrete accessories to the contractors and home builders under the new name OK Ready Mix, a Division of Lehigh Hanson Materials Limited.

In its news release, OK Builders thanked its customers, suppliers and staff, who, it said, made the business a success over the past 65 years.
