Winners in Kelowna will be hiring during a job fair next weekend.

A mass hiring opportunity will take place next Friday and Saturday in Kelowna as retail company Winners will be looking to hire up to 40 new associates.

The mass hiring will take place at the Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel and Suites on Hwy 97 at Leckie Rd on Friday February 3, and Saturday February 4 from 10 a.m to 7 p.m. in partnership with the local WorkBC Employment Services Centre.

Winners will be hiring up to 40 new associates to help with the move to their new location at Orchard Plaza.

“We are looking for energetic people to help us make this transition into our new space, and while some people might be interested in the 6 week temporary contract that we are offering, we are very hopeful to attract some talent that will stay with us after the move and decide to grow their career with us at Winners” says Store Manager Paula Turner.

Interested applicants are encouraged to visit one of the three area WorkBC Employment Service Centres prior to the Job Fair.  “We are pleased to work with Winners to assist them with their recruitment needs for this exciting move happening in Kelowna.  People interested in attending this job fair are invited to visit us at WorkBC” says Scott Sherwood, Provincial Director with MAXIMUS Canada, he adds “access to computers, printers, and our skilled Resource Room Navigators who are able to assist individuals in resume editing and formatting and interview preparation are just some of the services people can find at no cost at WorkBC.”

Plans are underway to start people in their new positions February 25, with both full and part-time positions available for the relocation.  It is anticipated that the new location will open for business in late March and Winners plans to operate both locations during the transition.  The Capri location is slated to close at the end of April.
