The never-ending winter continues its reign in B.C. as interior highways are expected to get another blast of snow, Friday evening.

Environment Canada is forecasting a strong frontal system that will spread precipitation to the southern portion of the province this afternoon.

From Friday afternoon to Saturday morning, 15 to 20 centimetres of snow is anticipated to fall on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt, the Allison Pass (Highway 3) as well as Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.

Snow levels will rise significantly by early Saturday morning, and that snow should turn to rain.

However according to Environment Canada that rain will be short lived as the snow returns to these high elevation passes later in the day.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
