A Sicamous man spent a night at the RCMP detachment after allegedly attempting to pick fights at a local restaurant.
Sgt. Murray McNeil said multiple reports were received around 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, regarding an intoxicated man attempting to start fights with patrons at an eatery on Main Street in Sicamous. When officers arrived, the suspect, who was outside the restaurant, immediately fled the scene.
“The suspect was located in a nearby parking lot where he was arrested,” said McNeil in a media release. “The two attending officers were able to gain control of the man and transport him to cells without further incident.”
The 33-year-old man was released the next morning, and McNeil said the matter remains under investigation.
