Police locate three teen girls from the Okanagan in one month

RCMP in Kelowna and West Kelowna have issued three missing persons reports for teen girls, locating all three

The second of two West Kelowna teenage girls reported missing within the last month has been found—a trilogy of success stories for Central Okanagan police.

RCMP confirmed Wednesday that 15-year-old Raven Graham, who left home the day before Halloween, has now been located; she is the last of the three to be confirmed safe and sound.

The young woman left her home in the 3200-block of McGregor Road and was described as having a history of running away. She was reported missing around the same time as another teenage girl she knew and RCMP noted the correlation.

The other missing teen, Jessica Despres, was described as living a high-risk lifestyle with drug involvement when she went missing around the same time as Graham. She too was later located.

A third teenage girl was then reported missing in Kelowna, though the case was unrelated. Demi Rempel, 16, was found after going missing around the same time as her 20-year-old male friend. She was believed to be hitchhiking to his home on the prairies and was eventually located in Medicine Hat.

“We don’t issue releases for every missing person,” said Cst. Kris Clark. “We get calls everyday.”

Clark said the RCMP do a risk assessment, look at how long the person has been missing for and the potential for harm in each case before going to the public.
