Premier touts government fiscal management in Kelowna speech

Christy Clark says B.C. may be the only province that balances its budget this year.

B..C. Premier Christy Clark told a packed Kelowna Chamber of Commerce luncheon Friday that a better B.C. is not built by making government bigger, it’s built by making the economy stronger.

And that’s what she says her government is doing.

Touting the province’s third balanced budget in three years, Clark said despite adding more money for key areas like health care and education, the province is continuing to keep a keen eye on its spending and has a better debt to GDP ratio than any other province in Canada. And that, she said is sving the province millions of dollars each year.
