UPDATED: June 14, 11:52 a.m.

BC Wildfire crews remain on scene of a blaze on Blue Grouse Mountain that started Tuesday afternoon just off Westside Road.

The fire is considered a Rank 1 and estimated to be two hectares in size, a decrease from the original size of 2.5 hectares.

Two fire investigators and 26 firefighters are on site. The cause of the blaze is under investigation and not yet being released.

According to Fire Information Officer Justin Hunse, the blaze is being ‘held’ which means there is sufficient fire suppression in place and it is not expected to spread under the forecasting conditions.

The fire danger rating for the Okanagan is moderate but can could quickly change as the season progresses.
