A 32-year-old man from Lake Country is charged with a dozen offences after a plainclothes officer pulled him over last week.

Marshall Hunter faces five counts of possession of stolen property; possessing a prohibited weapon without a licence; occupying a vehicle in which there was a firearm; two counts of theft; two counts of possessing a controlled substance; and a break and enter charge after he was found on a stolen scooter.

On Wednesday, Aug. 14, a member of the Kelowna RCMP Target Team spotted a scooter with uninsured plates heading into Millbridge Park off Gordon Drive, which he discovered had been stolen from a home in the 1200-block of Ethel Street.

“A search of the man revealed small quantities of various drugs, cash and a knife,” said Const. Kris Clark, Kelowna RCMP.

The officer also discovered a Colt handgun stashed on the scooter, stolen from a residence on the 800-block of Kinnear Court a week prior.
