Suspicious fire causes Pandosy apartment evacuation

Kelowna Fire Department responsded in the early evening Thursday

At around 4 p.m. Thursday evening, Kelowna Fire responded to calls reporting smoke at an apartment in the 1900 block of Pandosy St. in Kelowna. First arriving crews reported heavy smoke in an apartment on the ground level, and found a small fire and heavy smoke in the unit upon entering.

There were no further exposures, and no reported injuries, as the fire was kept to the single unit in the complex. All the building’s residents were allowed back in after the fire crews vented out the the building.

Kelowna Fire Department has deemed the fire suspicious and the RCMP has taken over the investigation.
