Four people, including the driver were ejected from a vehicle on Saturday during an off-road rollover near Hayman Lake.

On July 14, at 2:45 p.m., the Kelowna RCMP received a report of an off-road crash near Hayman Lake off Bartley Road. Apparently, four people were off-roading in the area and were on a steep trail when the drive shaft of their vehcile broke.

While backing down the hill, the truck hit a tree, overturning the vehicle and ejecting all occupants.

A 27-year-old West Kelowna man, and two 27-year-old women, from Kelowna and West Kelowna, suffered serious but apparently non-life threatening injuries but required to be air-lifted out by Search and Rescue helicopter to a waiting ambulance.

The driver, a 25-year-old man from West Kelowna, was uninjured.

Alcohol and lack of seatbelts appear to have been factors, along with the mechanical malfunction. No charges have been recommended at this time.
