Driver escapes vehicle fire

Smoke and flames were spotted coming from the hood of a truck on Hudson Road

  • Nov. 20, 2017 4:25 p.m.

A pickup truck burst into flames in West Kelowna on Monday afternoon.

It appears the driver made it out of the vehicle without injury after a fire started under the hood of the truck.

Fire crews were called to Hudson Road near the Sonic Car Wash just before 4 p.m. and were able to douse the flames.

It’s unclear the extend of the damage to the truck.

The driver was able to pull the vehicle to the side of the road so as not to block traffic.
