Two injured in single motorcycle crash

Marmot to blame as two slide from motorbike to prevent collision.

A Kelowna couple suffered non-life threatening injuries Saturday, July 14, in a single vehicle motorcycle crash near Gorman Brothers Mill on Highway 97 South.

At 4:45 p.m., West Kelowna RCMP received a report of a motorcycle crash at 2880 Highway 97 South. The driver apparently laid the bike down while attempting to avoid wildlife on the roadway, ejecting both him and his wife.

Both occupants slid about 75 m, with the motorcycle continuing for another 200 m before coming to rest.

A marmot was found deceased at the point of collision and both the driver and passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries.
