A van and truck collided at the intersection of Cooper Road and Highway 97 this afternoon shortly after 3 p.m.

There were no initial injuries reported although the air bags in the van were deployed. There was no official word on how many people were riding in either vehicle.

Both vehicles sustained considerable damage. An ambulance was at the scene but didn’t have to take anyone to hospital.

The accident blocked southbound traffic crossing the intersection on Cooper Road and reduced Highway 97 eastbound traffic to one lane until the vehicles could be towed away.

The police investigation is continuing.
