UPDATE: JAN. 30, 2017

RCMP say there does not appear to be anything suspicious about a destructive car fire on Trepanier Road on Friday.

West Kelowna RCMP were called to the scene on Jan. 27 at 1:51 p.m. at Trepanier near Lost Road for reports of a vehicle fire.

“Police arrived on scene to find a 2007 Pontiac Solstice fully engulfed in flames in the middle of the driving portion of the roadway,” said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey.

Fire crews from Peachland responded out of their jurisdiction at the RCMP's request to douse the flames.

“Investigators have been told that a suspected electrical issue led the vehicle's driver to jump start the car, at which time the blaze was sparked,” said O'Donaghey.

“There were no injuries as a result of the blaze.”

The wreckage was eventually towed from the roadway.
