Three weeks after apprehending a serial drunk driver

A weekend crash that took the life of a Kelowna man is is still being investigated by the BC Coroner's Service with the assistance of the RCMP.

The West Kelowna RCMP attended a single vehicle roll over collision June 12 at approximately 1:25 a.m. on Highway 97 and the Highway 97 C off ramp in Peachland.

"Police have determined that a single male occupant had been ejected from a red Jeep Cherokee which resulted in significant bodily injuries," said Cpl. Cory Lepine, in a press release.

"Despite the efforts of witnesses and emergency services personnel, the driver's injuries proved fatal and he was pronounced deceased at the scene."

An RCMP collision re-constructionist was called out to conduct a full analysis of the scene to determine the contributing factors to this crash.

The driver is not being identified at this time pending the notification of his next of kin.

The West Kelowna RCMP continue to assist the BC Coroner's Service with this investigation which is ongoing at this time.
