West Kelowna: Findlater wins another term as mayor

Findlater earns 3,724 votes to beat out challenger Rosalind Neis with 3,126 votes.

The preliminary results for the West Kelowna municipal election have incumbent Doug Findlater elected for another three-year term as mayor.

Findlater recorded 3,724 votes, to beat out challenger Rosalind Neis, who received 2,126 votes.

The council members elected were Rick de Jong, David Knowles, Gord Milsom, Duane Ophus, Bryden Winsby and Carol Zanon.

The West Kelowna school trustee race saw Julie Fraser elected with 18,29 votes, defeating her opponents Jerry Holowchak (826), Tina Pomponio (1255) and Dan Summers (852).

The voter turnout was 26.34 per cent. The voter turnout in the last municipal election in West Kelowna for 2008 was 42 per cent.
