West Kelowna residents  had two opportunities to participate in Remembrance Day this morning.

Ceremonies were held at the Westbank Cenotaph and at Royal LePage Arena to mark Remembrance Day.

Attending the service at the Westbank Cenotaph, Tineke Ragan said she felt it’s important to educate her daughter Estee, 8, about the role Canadians played in freeing Holland from Nazi occupation during the Second World War, and the sacrifices Canadian soldiers made to free her homeland.

“It’s important and something I want my children to know about,” Ragan said.
