A special weather statement has been issued by Environment Canada for Highway 1 from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass due to an expected 5-10 cm of wet snow.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass on the Trans-Canada Highway on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The statement was issued at 8:18 a.m. as 5 to 10 cm of wet snow was expected.

Drivers are cautioned as slippery road conditions are expected. It was noted that a low pressure system brought the snow Tuesday morning but it is expected that the snow will taper off to showers in the evening with a cold front passing.
