ZZ Top’s sharp dressed men rock Kelowna

The "little ol' band from Texas" played Prospera Place Thursday night.

ZZ Top, which bills itself as “that little ol’ band from Texas,” brought it distinctive three-chord rock sound to Kelowna’s Prospera Place Thursday night, delighting the audience of about 5,000 mainly middle-aged fans.

The three members of the band, lead guitarist and singer Billy Gibbons, bass player Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard (ironically the only member of the band who does not sport a beard) showed despite their age – they are all 64 – they still can rock out, running through many of their up-tempo hits, such as Sharp Dressed Man, Legs, Under Pressure, La Grange and Tush, as well as some new songs thrown in for good measure during their 90-minute set.
