Parkes, Albina Agatha Bea

With sadness, we announce the passing of Bea Parkes at Kelowna General Hospital on April 7, 2017 at the age of 89.
Bea will be lovingly remembered by 13 nephews and nieces; one (unofficially) adopted daughter; and her beloved companion – her dog Bobbi. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Bob, in 1996; her parents John and Anna; her brother John; sisters Betty and Anna; and her niece Colleen.
Bea was a hairstylist her whole life, owning LaVogue Beauty Salon, Hi Fashion, and the Pink Room Beauty Salon.
Bea and Bob built and ran the Rutland Tastee Freeze in 1968. After they sold the Tastee Freeze, she went back to her first passion – hairdressing, until she finally retired, at which time bridge became her passion. Bea’s family extend “thanks” to the staff of Kelowna General Hospital for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness. A memorial Service, honouring Bea, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Valleyview Funeral Home, 165 Valleyview Road, Kelowna, BC V1X 3M5.
