We sadly announce the passing of our wonderful mother, Bea, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the age of 93 in Kelowna General Hospital. She was born in Friedenstal, Alberta on August 3,1924.
She is survived by her sister, Kit, her brothers Tony, Frank, Bob, and Reg.
Her daughters Gloria (Garry) Wittich and Colleen Carlson, her grandchildren Shauna (Greg) Bottolfs, Connie (Chris) Ferris, Aaron (Shalea) Wittich, Tracy (Vince) Andrusiak and Kim Carlson as well as her great grandchildren Ieshia and Zack Andrusiak, Kayla Carlson, Amy and Corey Bottolfs, Faith and Ashton Ferris, Rianna and Hayden Wittich. There are also many nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael, her brother John, her sisters Claudie, Carey, Joan and Maria. Mom excelled at sewing, knitting, crocheting, as well as all kinds of crafts. She was the most giving person to everyone.
She didn't hesitate to help anyone in need. She loved to make themed posters for her door, to go with the current season or holiday. She was most proud of her Canada Day afghan that was of her own design depicting all the provinces and territories.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2547 Hebert Road, Westbank on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Father Wayne Pfliger officiating. In leu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or Kidney Foundation of Canada in memory of Alvena.
