Carole will be greatly missed by her loving husband and best friend Philip Thomas, they were married in 1958 in Toronto. Carole was predeceased by her father Theodore Rumney Salter and mother Margaret Evangeline Salter, both of Toronto. Carole was also predeceased by her dear brother William Theodore Salter of Peterborough, Ontario. She leaves her nieces Suzanne E. Salter of Vancouver, Linda Brown of North Bay, Ontario, nephews Douglas Fulthorpe of Florida, and David Fulthorpe of California. Carole was born and educated in Toronto, graduating from North Toronto Collegiate with a scholarship for excellence. She then went to work for a prominent Toronto Law Firm where she became a Notary Public (Ontario). Her husband, a professional engineer Philip was transferred in 1970 to Vancouver, at first settling in North Vancouver, then moving to Richmond in 1974. There, Carole had a Hobby Kennel; raising her beloved collies. She was extremely successful, often finishing her show year with a collie at or near the top in Canada. She made several very dear friends in the breed in Canada, the US and England. Carole was a life member of The Canadian Kennel Club, a member of the Collie Club of America, Collie Club of Canada , Collie Club of B.C. and Richmond Dog Fanciers. Carole and Phil moved to Kelowna in 2000 and were able to do quite a bit of traveling in the following years. From the age of four Carole fought with all her might against a killer respiratory disease. This time she didnt make it, but she sure tried . No Service at Caroles request. Cremation.
