With heavy hearts, the family of Dalton Burton announces his sudden passing on New Year's Day 2019.

Left to mourn and miss this wonderful man are his daughters, Gwen Chapman (Ian) and Beth Flynn (Michael Kuiack); the grandsons he adored, Adam Flynn (Isidora Knezevic) and Alec Flynn; his step-grandchildren, Kimberly Page (Jason), and Josh Chapman; his step great-grandchildren, Elodie and Callum Page; and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins in BC and Ontario. Dalton will also be sadly missed by his cherished companion, Nola Mazar, and her family. Dalton was predeceased in 2010 by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jewel.

Dalton's 91 year journey began in 1927 in Cochrane, Ontario. As a young man, he moved to Kapuskasing where he began a 42-year career as an electrician at Spruce Falls Power & Paper Co. In 1988, Dalton and Jewel followed their daughters to BC. In characteristic style, Dalton and Nola danced 2018 away at the New Years Eve festivities in Kelowna's Sunrise Village. He left to join Jewel for his next dance, in heaven, early in the evening of New Year's Day 2019.

Dalton's funeral service and interment beside his precious Jewel will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 4619 Lakeshore Rd., Kelowna at 2 pm on Friday, January 11, 2019.

A special "Dalton Burton Memorial Happy Hour" reception will follow at the Sunrise Village Rec. Hall (1255 Raymer Ave.) from 4 pm - 6 pm.

The family wishes to thank Rev. Anne Privett and the parish family of St. Andrew's Anglican Church for their support and the Emergency/Trauma staff of Kelowna General Hospital for their gentle care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dalton's memory to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation or to St. Andrew's Anglican Church.
