CAMPBELL, David James (Dave)
(Born, June 11, 1960) It is with deep sadness the family of David James Campbell announces that he was taken from us suddenly in a motor vehicle accident at Duck Lake on December 9, 2009.
Dave leaves behind: his loving parents Phyllis & Jim Campbell, residents of Winfield for 41 years, twin sister Laurie Salisbury, nephew Noah (Stephanie) and niece Miranda (Scott) and newborn great-nephew Ayden, big brother Mike (Ruth) Campbell in California, nephews Ben and Stewart and niece Jennifer and their families, little
brother Doug (Cerise) Campbell, step-niece Ciera and his youngest nephew and niece, Miles and Lani. All will be at a great loss without Uncle Evad around.
DC-9 had a love for all sports and played on various Lake Country softball and hockey teams including the Oyama Lakers, Mels, Sonics, and Double Diamonds in addition to coaching the Crushers in the ladies’ league. He also played minor hockey in his younger days and attended Wood Lake Elementary in Winfield before graduating from George Elliot Secondary School in 1978.
Dave’s career began with his uncle’s company Bert Henry Wholesale where he was a dedicated worker for 25 years. He continued to work as a sales representative with the
company after they were bought out by Morton Clark,
servicing the territory from Salmon Arm to Osoyoos.
He was a kind, gentle man and loved dearly. Dave was always there when we needed him and we were very lucky to have such a special son, brother and uncle in our family.
“Dave, you will be home for Christmas, just not at our house.” We will miss you.
A memorial service will be held at Springfield Funeral Home on Saturday, December 19th at 1 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Dave. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com, 250-860-7077.
