It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dick Rahn at the age of 68 years. Dick was born July 30, 1939 in Armstrong to Richard and Leatha Rahn. He was raised and went to school in the Armstrong-Enderby area. Moving to Kelowna in the early 1960’s he was an employee of Okanagan/B.C. Telephone for 30 years. After early retirement in 1993 he further developed his small cow/calf operation in the Ellison area, he was also very involved in the Valley 4H movement. After the sale of his farm he had more time to spend with his family and found the thrill of the open road with his Honda 750 Shadow. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sydney and sons Steven (Catherine) of Clinton and Michael (Jennica) of Kamloops. Dicks’ true joy was his grandson Tyler. Also brother Carl Rahn and sister Minnie Haenschke and Margaret McKenzie. Thank you to Dr Grant Chamberlain and all the staff at Cottonwoods Douglas Fir Unit for the wonderful care Dick received. No service by Dicks’ request. There will be a gathering for family and friends on Saturday June 14th from 2-4 in the Tea Room at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dicks name to B.C. Childrens Hospital. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mem.com.
