ELEANOR IDA (nee Johnson), Born July 1, 1929 in Enderby, B.C, died suddenly on March 31, 2008 in Kelowna General Hospital. Eleanor is survived by brothers Stanley (Hazel) of Courtney and Ernie of Red Deer, sisters-in-law, Joyce Johnson of VIctoria, Mary Johnson of Kelowna, Anna Crane of Thunder Bay and brother-in-law Norman Jones also of Thunder Bay, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her devoted husband of forty years, Calum, in 1988, one sister and four brothers, most recently Elmer John Johnson, five months ago. Eleanor was a B.C girl until Calum “swept her off her feet” and they moved to Fort William (now Thunder Bay) where they lived for many years. After his death she returned to her Okanagan roots and lived in the Wedgewood community in Kelowna until the time of her death, Eleanor was quiet, kind and fair, a gentle soul who enjoyed keeping her appearance, taking her daily walks and the company of friends and family. She said, “This makes me feel young.” At Eleanor’s request there will be no service, internment will be near famlly in Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in her name.
