In loving memory ~ Ellen peacefully passed away in Kelowna Hospice after a brief illness on October 13, 2021. Born on May 2, 1935 in Manchester, England to parents Sarah and Arthur Norton. She was one of three daughters and was raised to be strong, caring, and resilient.
Married the love of her life, Edwin Pointer in 1955 and together they raised three children, Jennifer, Sarah, and Edwin. The family immigrated to Canada in 1966 and happily settled in Southwestern Ontario.
Ellen enjoyed running her own printing business in Sarnia, Ontario. Retirement years were spent in Penticton and then later Westbank, BC. She was able to play golf and line dance happily for many years with good friends made along the way.
Ellen was predeceased by her daughter, Sarah in 1994 and husband Edwin in 2003. Also predeceased by sister, Claire from the UK. Survived by son Edwin (Robyn), daughter Jennifer (Ron), grandchildren (Erin, Alan, Lindsay, Hayden, Maiya) and great granddaughter, Elliana.
Also survived by her loving sister and brother in law, Irene and Don Snelling of Sun Village and their son Chris (Kara) and 2 daughters from Calgary. Ellen also is remembered by niece, Elaine (Gerry) in the UK and nephew, Barry (Doreen) from Australia.
