MCROBERT, Elsie(Rauch) December 15, 1919 – June 13, 2010.
It is with great sadness we annouce the passing of Elsie at the age of 90 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Perry ”Mac,” daughter Diane,
son Tom(Kathy), grandchildren Jasmin and Brandon of Prince George, B.C.,
sisters Edith Graham, Violet Locke, and Ruby(Henry)Fedoruk of Kelowna, B.C.,
neices and nephews as well as numerous friends.
She was predeceased by brothers Fred(Rose)Rauch, John(Irma)Rauch, Harold Rauch and sister in law Esther,
sisters Betty Olson and brother in law Bill, Laura Lucier and brother in law Phil,
and brothers in law Walter Locke and Bill Graham.
Elsie was born in Leader, Saskatchewan and was a graduate of the Saskatoon City
Hospital School of Nursing. During the war years she served as a Nursing Sister with
the R.C.A.M.C. in military hospitals in Canada, Great Britain and Germany. Following
the war she nursed at Shaughnessy Hospital, the B.C. Cancer Clinic, Vancouver and
Kelowna General Hospitals. She met her husband Perry in Kelowna and they were
married there and lived in Williams Lake, Quesnel, Shuswap Falls, Prince George,
and later retired in Kelowna. She was a volunteer with the Prince George Unit of the
Canadian Cancer Society for many years.
Special thanks go to all that cared for Elsie, the doctors and nurses of the Kelowna
Hospital and Chapel, Dr. Davidson, and the caring staff of The Chatsworth and Village at
Smith Creek Care Residences.
Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends and all whose lives she touched.
A memorial service in Elsie’s honour will be held at a later date. For those wishing, memorial
donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
