Geraldine MUELLER

passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the age of 77.  He was born in Zichydorf, Yugoslavia on June 17th, 1930 to Heinrich and Susanna Mueller. After his family was forced from their home in the Banat, Franz lost his father to the war at age 14. After being scattered throughout war torn Europe, the remaining family reunited at a refuge camp in Krumbach, Schwaben, where he met, and fell in love, with his future wife Betty. He immigrated to Toronto in 1950 with his family, and in 1951 Betty followed and they were married in January of 1952. New to Canada, Franz started as a carpenter and due to his skills and commitment to his work, he advanced quickly to construction superintendent. In 1965 Franz developed a business idea to build office partition walls and decided to return to Germany to realize his dream of owning his own business. He founded Mueleco Trennwand GmbH, which was a success due to his dedication and hard work. In 1987 he decided to return to Canada for his retirement, and chose to settle in Kelowna. He developed a passion for golf and a love for the outdoors in general. His hobbies also included dancing, singing, biking, skiing, fishing, and music. Franz loved to tell jokes and being the people person that he was, he made friends easily. Franz is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 56 years. His family always had the top priority in his life, and he will forever be remembered for his strength, courage, and pride in his family. Franz and Betty have three children, Ingrid, Robert, and Karen, four grandchildren, Tamara, Frank, Sabrina and Ida, and two great grand children, Trent and Zachary.  Franz is survived by his sister Kaethe Schuebel and predeceased by his parents and brother Heinrich Mueller.
