Gary Francis Dober
1951 – 2016
Gary Dober passed away on July 17, 2016 at the age of 64 among family and friends at Kelowna General Hospital.
Gary is survived by his wife Zoraia, daughters Zoe, Maria, and Jessica, sons Mathew (Holly) and David, sisters Carol (Neal), Gail (Greg) and Lynn (Darren), brothers Wayne (Jean) and Murray (Trish), 4 grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews.
Gary was born in Edmonton, Alberta and began his career in the oil industry, which provided him the good fortune of travelling oversees with his young family. Gary settled his family back in Kelowna in the early 80’s and started a landscape and irrigation company called Early Bird Landscape and Design, responsible for prominent Kelowna landscape projects such as the Grand Okanagan, the Kelowna Courthouse and the Harvest Golf Club. Gary capped-off his career by developing 3 premier residential multi-family developments in Kelowna, the Park Residences, Park Place and Mission Villas.
Gary retired in his late 50’s and met the love of his life, Zoraia, while travelling in Brazil. Together they had two beautiful daughters, whom they raised together in West Kelowna.
Gary was a passionate man and lived life for the moment. He was a world traveler, photographer, entrepreneur and lover of good music and wine, but above all he was a loving and caring family man, father and friend to many.
As per Gary’s wishes a Celebration of Life will be held close to his birthday in mid November. Condolences can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
