Gerald Neil "Gerry O" Obrecht

May 5, 2018

Mar 28, 1955 - May 5, 2018
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Gerry due to a brief, courageous battle with cancer.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Gerry is survived by his wife Pam, sons Marc, Philip (Brittany), Devon, daughter's Ashley and Jennifer (Till), grandchildren Amelia and Cooper, brother Brent, nephews James, Sean, and Lucas (mother in law Elsie Taphorn), and numerous extended family members across Canada.

He was predeceased by his best friend and mother Momma O (July 2007), father Albert Obrecht (1995), and Aunt Phyllis.

Gerry was born in Vancouver British Columbia to Margaret Ann Al-Molkey (Momma O) and Albert Obrecht. He grew up in Brandon Manitoba, later moving to Kelowna and attended Okanagan College to study business.

He went on to become a successful business man in the hospitality industry who supported his community through his passion for sports.

Gerry played many years of baseball and was a long time member of Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club where he was a former club captain and grew to know and love many of the members.

His love for travel took him all over the world to various countries with family members and friends from golfing trips to sight seeing adventures including the Global Scavenger Hunt twice in 2013/2014.

The family asks that you share Gerry's sense of humour and life experiences that you had with him through photos, stories and short videos and upload to www.rememberinggerryo.com

We encourage you to go to the website so that we can all share in Gerry's life adventure.

Celebration of Life will be held at Vernon Lodge Ballroom, Vernon BC, on May 26, 2018 from 2 pm to 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Vernon Hospice House in memory of Gerry.
