Gordon James (Jim, Gumboot) Biffard

"Jim" passed away peacefully in West Kelowna on a sunny afternoon October 26, 2017 at the age of 82.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 60 years, Aileen. His children: Brenda (Jeff) Simla, Kelly (Diane) Biffard, Joanne (John) Turner, brother Bill and sister Ruby.

Grandchildren: Carly (Sheldon) Westrheim, Kayla (Zac) Gauthier, Trevor (Jade) Turner, Tenille (Matt) Turner, Travis (Jen) Turner, Tianna (Steve) Biffard, Cassie and Brittany Biffard. Great grandchildren: Brielle, Easton, Cassle, Jaxon, Norah, Piper, Stella, and one grandbaby on the way.

He is also fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Leonard (March 1999), sisters Betty and Jean, brothers Wilmer and John.

Dad worked for many years as a professional truck driver and was a dedicated Teamster's Union Local #213 member. He was an avid hockey player in his younger years and coached his two sons. Later in life when he was still full of life, he would go on to be a dedicated hockey fan to his two grandsons, Trevor and Travis. With a toothpick in his mouth you often heard him yelling from the sidelines. He was so proud of the fact he had coached Trevor's hockey team as well.

"Papa" loved his grandchildren and he was happiest when they would gather for celebrations, or just to visit. He loved and cherished his family, family was central to him. Jim had many friends, and lived most of his life in Kelowna. He lived life to the fullest, and if you couldn't see him around you surely could "hear him".

Dad was a master story teller, he would love to share stories with the grandchildren of early life growing up. As the grandchildren would often say "You just got Biffed".

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 13, 2017 at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1910 Windsor Road Kelowna with Pastor Laurence East officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Metro Community, 1262 St. Paul Street Kelowna, BC V1Y2C9.
