MEADS, HAROLD ALBERT
It is with profound sadness that the family of Harold Albert Meads announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Kelowna General Hospital with his loving wife Clara at his side. He is survived by his wife, Clara; his children, Paula (Ray) Newbon, Jocelyn (Robert) Crouse, Randy (Melodie) Meads, and David (Angela) Meads; eight
grandchildren, Joseph, Amanda, Ashley, Raelene, Alaina, Ryley, Dylan, and Avery; eight great-grandchildren, Ashton, Araya, Ty, Reece, Cole, Sienna, Gracie, and Braeden, his sisters Ruth Hunt and Yvonne (George) Armitage, and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was
predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Louisa Meads, his brothers Cecil and Ernest, and his sister Ethel. Born on April 25, 1922 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Harold grew up to work in the family painting and wall-papering business before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force at the age of 20. He served his country for three years. Following his service he
continued in his chosen profession of painting. He met Clara who graduated from the Galt Hospital Nursing program in Lethbridge in September of 1953, they married on October 5, 1953. They settled in Calgary, Alberta where they raised their family before retiring to the Okanagan in 1990. Harold will be lovingly remembered for his dedication to his family, his church, and living a Christian life with a smile on his face and in his heart. There will be a Memorial Service for Harold on Monday, June 11, 2011 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church located at 1162 Hudson Road, Kelowna, BC with Pastor Ed Skutshek officiating.
