HARVEY LELAND JOHNSON
July 4, 1940 – July 20, 2009
We are so sad to announce the passing of a very special man. After a brave battle with cancer our beloved
Harvey passed away peacefully with his loving wife, sons and family by his side. Harvey was predeceased by his parents and his brother Buck. Harvey is survived by his soul mate and partner in life Lorraine, sons Shawn, Jamie and Ryan, brothers Dale (Sharon), Willard (Clarice), sister Louisa and sister in law Joyce. He has also left behind an extended family, which loved and cherished their brother in law. Also left to miss him are numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Harvey was a very kind, caring, giving man who would do anything he could to make someone else’s life a little better. Harvey worked for the City of Kelowna for 25 years before retiring and taking up RV’ing and traveling with his wife, Lorraine. He was a quiet man who was much
respected, loved and liked by all who had the privilege to know him in both Kelowna and his final home in
Vernon. He will be greatly missed by many. While in Vernon he kept himself busy with his new hobby wood working, of which many family members have pieces to remember him by. The family wishes to thank all who participated in the care of our Harvey through his illness. As requested by Harvey, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Harvey’s name to the BC Cancer Foundation, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5L3 would be appreciated by the family. An open house will be held on August 30th, 2009 from 11 – 4 at the family home, 3611 Centennial Dr., Vernon, BC.
We Love You Harvey and Will Miss You So Much.
