Heather's family is sad to announce that she passed away at age 58 on July 23rd due to complications related to a lifelong eating disorder.
Born in Ft. William, ON, Heather grew up in Kelowna, graduating from KSS. She moved to Victoria to attend UVic where she completed a BSc. in Psychology. She worked for several years as a Medical Transcriptionist at Royal Jubilee Hospital until health issues prevented her from continuing. Thereafter she volunteered at various community organizations as her health permitted.
Heather was an avid walker and enjoyed exploring the many nooks and crannies of her beloved Victoria. She was also fond of reading, baking, doing puzzles and crafts.
She was dearly loved by her family: parents Don and Donna McKenzie, sisters Darrell-Lee (Joh Nichols) and Brenda Downey (Scott), nephew Mckenzie Downey and uncle Rod Real, all of Penticton.
