Ida Fairhurst 1913 – 2010
Ida Fairhurst (nee Stotz) passed away peacefully at Three Links Manor in Kelowna, B.C. on December 3, 2010, at the age of 97 years. Born in Irving, Alta. on November 4, 1913, Ida spent most of her life in Redcliff, Alberta finally moving to Kelowna, B.C. in 2006 to be closer to her two sons, Ron (Doreen) from Chase and Bob (Rita) from Kelowna.
She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Robert, son Jack, daughter-in-law Elsie, mother and father Christina and Jacob, sisters Ann and Emma and brother John.
Besides her two sons she is survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She leaves a loving legacy for all who were privileged to know her. She had a wonderful sense of humour all through her life and loved to dance. She also loved to entertain her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with many stories of growing up and raising three boys on the prairies.
Ida will be returned home to her beloved Province of Alberta and will be in the care of Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Services will be held on December 11, 2010 in Medicine Hat, Alberta with internment at the Redcliff Cemetery beside her loving husband, Robert, to forever rest in peace.
