IDA HARMS

HARMS, IDA GRACE. It is with profound sadness that we

announce the sudden passing of Ida on April 9, 2010. She was a wonderful wife to Les, mother to Brian and Linda (Fred), and grandma to Jennifer (Chris), Kelly (Rob), Stephanie (James), and Tracy. She also adored and spoiled her five great-grandchildren. Ida was born in London, England on December 23, 1922 and enjoyed her younger years as a dancer on London’s West-End stages. In World War II, she served England as a member of the code-breaking W.R.E.N.S. at Bletchley Park. The family

immigrated to Canada in 1957, and moved to Kelowna from the Lower Mainland in 1965. Ida became an avid participant in curling and spent many hours helping out with Theatre Kelowna. We would like to thank the staff at Lakeshore Place where she lived her final years and always commented about how wonderful everyone was (and that she no longer had to cook). Her friendly and caring manner will be missed by all who knew her. A short celebration of Ida’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on

Friday April 16th, 2010 at the Salvation Army Community Church, 1480 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Lung Association, PO Box 34009, Postal Station D, Vancouver, BC V6J 9Z9. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.mem.com
