JAMES ALAN SCHOLES Born May 21, 1951,

Jim died peacefully at home in Mill Bay on October 13, 2009. He was a gentleman in every sense and will be

sadly missed by his family and friends, who will forever remember his kindness, generosity and integrity,

as well as his wicked sense of humour. Jim was born and raised in North Vancouver, and in later years lived in Fernie, Victoria, Kelowna and Mill Bay. He worked more than 30 years for B.C. Tel, and was a committed volunteer for Kelowna Crimestoppers and the Myra Canyon Trestle project. His unique ability to love and value all aspects of his life was reflected in his enjoyment of the outdoors, his wide variety of interests, and most of all, his deep and abiding love for his family. Predeceased by his parents George and Grace and his brother George, Jim is

survived by his loving wife Janina, sons Alan (Heather) and Steve, grandsons Evan, Cameron and Andrew, brother Alfred (Shirley), sister Sylvia (Jim), and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks go out to the wonderful staff of the BC Cancer Agency and Duncan Home and Community Care, as well as the countless family, friends and neighbours who gave so generously of their love and time. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 on

Friday October 23, at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 531 Herbert St, Duncan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to either the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society or KIVA.org.
