1933 - 2017
We are saddened to announce the passing of Jane on
August 30, 2017. She is survived by her son Brian, daughter Maureen, granddaughter Evelynn (Chris), great grandsons Sebastian and Jaxson, sister Betty Anne (Bill), sister Leone (Ron), and extended family throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario. She is predeceased by her husband Graham, eldest son Michael, and brother Dave Kerry. Shortly after attending Normal School, Jane joined the Women’s Royal Naval Service where she served on HMCS Gloucester for the Special Communications Branch. Here she met her handsome soon-to-be husband Graham. Together they eventually made their way to Kelowna where they successfully owned and operated the Kelowna Capital News for many years. Jane was a long-time member of the Kelowna Golf and Country club. She enjoyed getting together with her golfing ladies, bowling, hiking, horseback riding and gardening. She loved living on her beautiful acreage, listening to the wind in the Ponderosa pines, and walking in the canyon. Jane provided a caring home for many animals and will be missed by her special cats.
Jane was a fun-loving, kind and generous lady who had a positive impact on many people. The best Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma in the world has left her family and friends with many happy memories and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
