January 20, 1944 - July 18, 2018
John David, age 74 years passed away on July 18th, 2018 at the Kelowna General Hospital, with his family by his side. John was born January 20th, 1944 in Chemnitz, Germany, the son of William and Rosa Schubert. John was predeceased by his sister Anna Zurowski, father William. He is survived by the love of his life, wife Annabelle (Ann), mother Rosa, brother William Jr (Linda), daughters Theresa (Bino) Shearer, Marcella Schubert, son Christopher (Susan), five grandchildren, Casey, Jordy, Amanda, Jaina, Taylor, two step grandchildren Scott and Sarah, two great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, special god daughter Crystal and numerous nieces and nephews.
John served in the Canadian Army for three years. During John's working career, he worked at Ipsco, Sask Power, Prairie Plastic Plowing and A.J. Pipeline Construction Ltd. He was a pipeline welder for most of his working years.
His passion was Antique Cars and he also owned and restored a few. He made friends wherever he went in his pipelining career and also spending 25 years down south in Mesa, Arizona. He was known for his joke telling, stories and hearty laughter.
A celebration of life will be held at Bristol Gardens Clubhouse, 1963 Durnin Road, Kelowna on Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 at 1:30 pm . Memorial Service will be held in Regina, Sask on Monday, August 13th, 2018 at the Victoria Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Ave E at 11:00 am.
