Born in Bolzano, Italy on
February 13, 1927. Passed away on August 11, 2011 in Westbank. Joe is survived
by his loving wife of 58
years Trudy; son Tom
(Michelle); daughter Karen; granddaughter Nataleigh
(Andrew); and grandson
Coulter. Also survived by
2 brothers in Italy, and
numerous relatives. Joe
was a very hard worker,
and became a winemaking apprentice in Italy. He worked
in Switzerland for a few years, where he met his future
wife, Trudy. After she moved to New York, Joe moved
to Canada, and worked for Chateau Gai Winery. Joe and Trudy got married in 1953, and had their 2 children in
Niagara Falls. In 1967 the family moved to Westbank,
and Joe worked at Mission Hill winery for 40 years.
He also owned a cork and winery equipment company,
and kept busy with that for 25 years.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1880 Dallas Rd, Kelowna on
Saturday August 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
We wish to thank Dr. Banwell and his staff for looking
after him for many years. As well, we want to show
appreciation for the loving care given to him by all the
staff at Village of Smith Creek. Joe passed away after a
long battle with Alzheimer’s and heart disease. He will
be missed by many family members, friends, neighbours and associates, as he was loved by all.
