Kurt Wilhelm Darmohray passed away peacefully on December 18, 2017, at the age of 87.
Kurt is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Gertrud, and his four children, Traudi, Sissi, Lydia and Curtis.
Kurt was loved by his 9 grandchildren and his 8 great-grandchildren, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Born in (Hassbach) Austria, Kurt immigrated to (Calgary) Canada in 1954 to build a better life for himself and his family. Throughout his varied career, Kurt never stopped learning - Apprentice Engineer, Locksmith, Journeyman, Commercial and Industrial Artist, Manager, Realtor, Successful Businessman, Volunteer, Farmer, Hollywood Actor, Author, Poet, Philosopher, Musician, Student and Teacher . . . a true "Renaissance Man" who affected all who knew him!
Kurt will be fondly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved spending time by the lake, hunting, fishing, mushroom picking, playing chess with his friends, singing with the Kelowna Liedertafel Choir, teaching his kids and grandkids, and spending time with his family.
Kurt lead a full and wonderful life, and will be sorely missed! Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. . . we love you Dad!
A heartfelt "Thank-you" to ALL who assisted Kurt and his family during his final days.
A Celebration of Kurt's Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Everden Rust Funeral Home, 1910 Windsor Road, Kelowna, B.C.
